We know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but did you know that October 13 is Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day?
Metastatic breast cancer (also known as stage IV cancer) is the most advanced stage of breast cancer, which has spread beyond the breast to other organs in the body. Last year, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed into action Assembly bill 1795 making it possible for women of all ages in California to seek breast cancer prevention and treatment.
I worked with the Northern and Central California Komen team to increase awareness about Stage IV Cancer and the bill Governor Jerry Brown signed into action. I recommended and executed a zipcode-based geo-targeted digital ad campaign reaching African-American and Latina women with display ads that directly linked them to a Facebook event about Metastatic Breast Cancer or the press release explaining the benefits fo AB 1795, which allows women of all ages in California to seek breast cancer prevention and treatment.
I also had the pleasure to work on the below posters for Komen NCCA, which were featured at the Capitol in Sacramento during the week of Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
