2017 was a bit of a whirlwind. I changed jobs (twice), I moved in with The Boy, I took two engagement shoots, I traveled to Toronto for a weekend Girl’s Trip, went camping, and even got to spend time with Dad in San Francisco. 2017 was also the year I stopped taking as many pictures, grew less satisfied with the path my career had taken, and more or less lost the creative drive that routinely kept me up and running on a daily basis.

I enter 2018 with a new job and a resolve to win back that creative drive. Part of that means taking the many thoughts and ideas I have and ascribing them to this blog instead of a spare notebook that I’ll inevitably lose track of because of who I am as a person. Hopefully, this means I get to share the little and big moments with you all more often. I have a lot planned for this year including tackling the climbing walls at Sportrock, my solo travel trip to Greece in late April, and more photoshoots in the springtime.

2018 Goals and Intentions

I’ve never been good at sticking to resolutions, but committing myself to different intentions has been the way to go for the past couple of years, so I’m here to share them with you, albeit nearly 2 months late.

  1. Health
  2. Self Determination
  3. Patience
  4. Maneuverability
  5. Expansion
  6. Clarity

HEALTH AND DETERMINATION – This year, I’ve committed myself to a vegetarian diet and spending more time working on my climbing at Sportrock (once my shoulder heals!).

PATIENCE AND STABILITY – This month I said goodbye to my job in public affairs and hello to a new (dream!) job. This is my third job since graduating, and I’m entering the year with a new intention for patience. I have a knack for launching into new opportunitiess guns and ideas blazing, and almost immediately run head first into obstacles. It’s an easy way to burn pretty quickly. This time, I plan to take it easy and be more aware of my surroundings in order to make the best of what’s in front of me.

EXPANSION AND CLARITY – In exercising more patience for more maneuverability, this will also give me a better chance to understand and expand on the things I know and want to know. It’ll also give me the chance to look at the bigger picture of what’s going on around me.

It’s February, but we’ve got another 10 months to go before 2019. Here’s to making the most of of it. Thanks for all your love and support.

-xoxo, foodie
