Red pants! They’re a little snug but they give me something to work toward for the end of the summer. Hehe.
I’m moving this summer and so I’m prepping by cleaning and decluttering the apartment. I’ve thrown away a lot of useless crap, I’ve sold some nicer things that I don’t want anymore, and I have three giant bags of clothes in my trunk waiting to go to Goodwill because I haven’t updated my closet since sophomore year in college.
My b.
The good news is that I get to COMPLETELY overhaul my wardrobe and start from scratch, and there are SO MANY options to choose from. Between wanting to travel more and minimalizing my stuff before the Great Move I’m becoming more and more intrigued by capsule wardrobes, and these pants are definitely the first step toward it.
For those of you not in the know (and don’t worry, I wasn’t in the know until a month ago) a capsule wardrobe is a minimalist approach to your wardrobe. A compact capsule wardrobe is typically made up of 30 or fewer staple pieces, including shoes, that fall into a color scheme. The idea is that you can pull any top and any bottom to make any outfit and it takes away the hemming and hawing of deciding what to wear the next day.

I think this is just a standard wardrobe for most men—but for me, THIS IS GROUNDBREAKING. I’m literally giving away three bags of clothes that I rarely wore and I could probably fill ANOTHER. Not to mention I’ve always called myself the packing queen because I can fit a month of clothes into a small carry-on duffle bag—just think of the possibilities I can make with a capsule wardrobe! I think these red pants are the beginning of a very exciting and minimalistic future.
