Introducing Social Media Saturdays! We did presentations in the class I TA for introducing students to new and trending social media apps. We finished the presentations last month, but I thought it was a great way to introduce students to new social media apps as they progress further into the PR world. So to keep up with that spirit, I’ll write about a new trending social media app that I think you guys should look into every Saturday.
Today’s app is Jelly!
A picture is worth a thousand words.

Launched in January of this year by Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Jelly gives new meaning to the saying “A picture is worth a thousand words.” If you’re walking along and see something strange, you can take a picture of it, draw a circle around it with your finger and ask, “What is this?” The question then goes to people who also have Jelly and other people in your existing social media networks, and they can answer the question for you. Instead cramming wordy descriptions into a 140-character message, the world is literally at your finger tips. This is also a great crowd sourcing tactic for all you PR people out there.
Check out this video highlighting the different functionalities of Jelly.
Jelly is free and available to iPhone and Android users. I have a Windows Phone, so it’s not available to me quite yet, so I can’t give you a personal review, but tell me what you think!
